Water Quality and Flow Monitoring Program, City of Bainbridge Island

To monitor the freshwater and marine nearshore water quality of Bainbridge Island to support the City of Bainbridge Island efforts to protect and restore beneficial uses associated with water quality on Bainbridge Island.

Benthic macroinvertebrate sampling includes three replicate samples from 3 square feet for a total of 9 square feet per site. Samples are delivered to Rhithron in Missoula, Montana on where they are sorted and identified with quality control procedures employed. Taxa lists and counts are entered into the PSSB so that metric calculations and scoring for the Puget Sound B-IBI can be performed.
